Grand Irish Pub Zlatibor Serbia
We loved our time in Zlatibor and on the last afternoon had a grand lunch in one of the many restaurants in the city. You will find on the review channels like TripIt that many of the restaurants there are rated quite high. Count on, for the most part, traditional Serbian food. Grand was a delight to find with its version of Serbian dishes.
I have become a fan of Karageorge Schnitzel which is a flatten out piece of either veal or chicken. The flatten meat is smeared with kaymak (more on the cheese spread in another post) rolled up, breaded and deep fried, much the same as you would chicken fried steak. The version at Grand is quiet delicious! The melted cheese spread oozes out when you cut into the roll and mixes with the veal fat to make a delightful coating over the french fries.
My wife having had enough meat for the weekend got the grilled vegetables which according to here was a great choice. Not cooked to long, sometimes Serbian food can get a bit mushy, but enough to sill enjoy the crunch of the veggies.
The beer was great and the rakia as an apetif very good. Ella of course ate pasta, her fall back when there is nothing else she wants.
There was a non smoking area which is always great to find and the entire room was set that way not just a few tables that changed depending on the fill of the room.
If in Zlatibor for the skiing or perhaps biking in the summer we would recommend at stop at Grand
