I am back!

I am back!! Took the summer off while trying to survive the virus.  Most of Ella’s activities were canceled but they are back in school starting today.  Hopefully, all will go well.  I have a lot to catch up with some restaurants to try and some notes from the few trips we did take.   In the coming days you will get some of that as well as I am going to show you pictures from our new apartment.  I started the series about buying an apartment in Belgrade. We have now moved in and most things are complete.

To say the least it was a challenge getting to this point.  It started with the garage, which was poorly designed.  The special parking place they convinced us to buy turned out to be too small.  I can not get out of the car when we park there, and it is legally too small for a parking spot.  You must really be careful going up and down the ramp, we had to get the car fixed after hitting the wall many times until we figured it out.

The heat did not work at first.  There is central heat from radiators, the hot water sent by the government.  Because we were one of the first to move in they kept telling us it was just our imagination that the heat wasn’t working or that we did not know how to set the thermostat.  As more people moved in finally, they figured out they had an issue and they had to dig up some pipes and fix the problem.

Since we are on the top floor, we were the ones that found out the roof leaked.  It leaked in several places and took them three or four attempts to fix the leaks.  We still have water damage in one room that has not been repainted, but it seems like now the roof is fixed.

We had to have the small bathroom door removed and put back on as they made the bathroom door where you put the washer and dryer too small.  We had the washer and dryer in the main hallway for several days waiting for them to get off their ass and come fix the problem.

Finally, we love the apartment.  I will show you more in the coming days.
