Our Week at the Montenegrin Coast Part Two

Even after driving halfway, you are still if everything goes well five hours from the Coast. A long winding road through the mountains with trucks and lane closures and a daughter that keeps asking are we there yet.

Once you get to the coast there is town after town of hotels and apartments, having become known as the Montenegrin Rivera. We had a wonderful little boutique hotel overlooking the beach and the path along the way and spent many hours just looking and watching the people. The Hotel Aleksandar was in the small town of Paštrovići. The beach was less than 20 meters away and the ocean perhaps 20 more till you were in the water, which was just perfect.

We had fish almost every night (I discuss in Part Three), it was just relaxing, and while a bit hot there was a nice ocean breeze. We went into the town of Budva one day, walked around the old town saw the church but most of the time was just taking it easy, not that life is so tough anyway. Got to start watching the Olympics towards the end of the week there.

The hotel is very pricey but nice, more on the food next. It was a great location. I would not recommend driving from Belgrade to there but it is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Though the drive is spectacular!
