American In Serbia

Our Week at the Montenegrin Coast Part Four

We loved the coast, the fish, the hotel, and everything but all good things must come to an end and so we made the trip halfway back to Belgrade, back to Zlatibor and El Paso City.

Ok, I have to take a moment to laugh as to why there is a Texas ethno village in the middle of Serbia. We pulled up and it was pretty much what you would expect, some combination of Serbian and Texas. You can actually buy a pass to come in, but I have no idea why anyone would want to do that.

There are some things that remind you of Texas, old trains, statues of horses, a saloon. We ate at the restaurant there and they were out of everything that would remind you of Texas, tacos, and chips, everything was pretty Serbian. They did have real Rakija. Which of course is Serbian plums.

The room was nice it was a cool evening there and pleasant to sleep there. TV’s in both rooms. You had a Serbian breakfast in the morning of sliced dried meat and cheese. I can’t really say it was bad but I can’t really recommend it other than it is a place to stay between the Montenegrin coast and Belgrade.

It was only two hours back but that was 30 minutes of road work that we had to wait through.

All in all, it was a great trip to the coast!
