Our Week at the Montenegrin Coast Part Three
We did not go far to eat as we fell in love with the hotel and Tri Ribiara next door about 50 meters away just down and out of the hotel.
As the story goes, the three fishermen go out every morning to make their catch. They return that to the resturant for that nights menu. Doubtful that story is still true any longer but it is cute. While there are some standards on the menu that you can always get, such as shrimp scampi, it is the fresh just-caught fish that morning that you want. Each day there is something slightly different. We went three times while we were there and even Ella who was totally against eating fish for such a long time enjoy eating and picking out which fish we had for the night. The patio is just a few meters from the sea and you have a lovely breeze and a great view in the evening. They have a nice wine list to go with dinner. I can’t recommend the Rakija there, it is grappa made from grapes not plums and was like drinking grain alcohol to me.
We sat on one of our two balconies every day and sometime around 4:00 in the afternoon they would open the awning that covered the Terrace resturant below us. We enjoyed watching as it added to the scene of the beach, the walkers, and the water sports that were going on in front of us. One evening I wanted to at least try the Terrace and see if the food was good. It was outstanding. I had the fish risotto both times we ate there and it was so good. Very creamy risotto with a delightful combination of shrimp and muscles and fish that very fresh. My wife had the octopus salad that was similar to ceviche and was in love. We ate there twice they have their hotel brand wine and both nights we had the rosé. They have an extensive wine list as there is a wine bar in the hotel one floor down with a wonderful list of wines from the Balkans. This were you have breakfast each morning.
Next our drive back to Belgrade.
