Rakija Part Three The Final Conclusion

You have had to wait for it for so long, through all the other posts of our travels and trouble and enjoyments. Now you finally get the conclusion of my attempt to introduce you to Rakija. This includes places in Belgrade to go to find good Rakij and more information on the subject.

My first stop would be on the web at the blog Brandy, mostly. Written by two Serbians that must have tried and written about every commercial Rakija that is produced and they are always looking for something new. They write extensively about the brandies they try in their reviews and you will find so much information about Rakija and Serbia in their blog. Of course, they would laugh at my attempt to write anything about their national drink so don’t mention I sent you.

If you are in Belgrade the best place to try a variety of Rakija is The Rakija Bar located on the pedestrian street near the center of the city. If you are staying in downtown Belgrade this will be a short walk. There is a cozy inside and a patio outside that works nicely in the warmer months. The people there know what they are serving and can help you experience Rakija. There is also a gift shop where you can take something back home if allowed by your country or drink in your room later.

There are a few restaurants that I would recommend. Most of them have reviews on this blog already

Stari Mills
Restaurant Orasac
Kalenic
Ambar
Restaurant Jerry
Bela Reka

If they have a website I have included the link. They can all be found on my blog or Trip Advisor. There are certainly many more, you can not go to a restaurant or bar in Serbia without them serving Rakija.

Who is watching the Olympics….Serbia is not doing so well in the sports we should.
