American In Serbia

Reservations

It is always safer to make a reservation at a restaurant than take a chance that it is full. Usually, the day before is enough. If you really want to try someplace, then two days is not an issue. We always either order for delivery, make a reservation two days ahead or make a reservation for 5:00 pm when we go to Tata Mata (review for this restaurant on this blog). The busy times at most restaurants are late afternoon, around 2:00 or 3:00, and nights at 8:00 or 9:00 pm. They will place a reservation sign on a table hours before the reservation. Concern for table turnover does not seem to be an issue in Serbia. So sometimes you can suggest you will not be there for more than an hour, Serbs like to take their time at meals, and you can squeeze into a table before they come.
