Jerry’s Restoran
Jerry’s has two locations, one in New Belgrade and the other close to some of the embassies and Amasadors residences, including the USA, not far from Ella’s school. The New Belgrade location is large and pretentious; the one closest to us is more cozy and warm though the food is just the same high quality at both.
They are pretty western in their cuisine, with a bit of Serbian thrown in. I had the burger, which is as good as any high-end burger in the US. It uses a very American mix of meat, unlike most Serbian burgers. I had the goose liver with pineapple that was so delicious, almost orgasmic for an appetizer. My wife was not that hungry and had the mozzarella and tomato salad, she loved the cheese.
Ella had the chicken nuggets and french fries from the child menu; they have several options there including mini burgers which also wanted, she gave the chicken a thumbs up. Mom and daughter shared a dessert that I could have eaten all myself. One scope of a sorbie that tasted like raspberry to me and a caramel and nut-covered vanilla ice cream chilled with nitrogen and still smoking on presentation. They have several rakijas and a excellent wine list.
Jerry’s is one of Serbia’s best western-leaning restaurants for casual but elegant food. I would highly recommend it after trying some of the local cuisines.
