American In Serbia

Nišava

Nišava is a traditional Serbian food restaurant located near Jerry’s in the district with some of the Embassies and Ambassador residences. It is tough to find a Serbian Restaurant that is not good, and many are outstanding, but Nišava is an exception. The food was poor and not very tasty.

I had the mixed grill and found it to be extremely dry. Serbian’s, in general, like to cook off their meat well done, but they went overboard. My wife had the Sarma and found it to be quite tasteless. My daughter’s cheese sticks on the kids’ menu were the only good item.

I always like to recommend restaurants, mainly because I had a good meal. I can’t recommend Nišava over the long list of traditional Serbian restaurants that are very good; quite a few have reviews on this blog.
