Moravia Meat Concept Store
The best butcher in Belgrade has opened a new location in the Palilulska pijaca called Moravia Meat Concept Store, which is right across the street from their original location not far from St Marks.
They have a smaller amount but a similar selection of raw and smoked meat.
Even better they also have a grill to prepare steaks and sandwiches. I tried the roast beef sandwich, which could not be better. When I took a bite, the perfection of the beef perfectly grilled, the bread soft and crunchy, the condiments they included, seemed to melt in my mouth in a sandwich symphony.
I can’t promise what will be there tomorrow, as I had already written about the Monistary Rakija shop inside the market that came and went so fast it made my head spin like an owl’s. Still, it seems Moravia is there to stay as a mainstay in the neighborhood. The line to the butches shop across the street is always at least six deep.
They serve draft beer and bottles as well as wine. If you need a loaf of bread, the bakery across the aisle would be wonderful to take back to the hotel with some cheese and a bottle of wine.
