American In Serbia

The View Roof Top

For my 66th trip around the sun, my wife didn’t tell me where we were going, but what a surprise. A fantastic view on the 7th floor of the Crystal Hotel overlooking St Sava in the heart of old town Belgrade. The roof and the sides are all retractable, giving a great view of everything around and a lovely breezy feeling.

They have a variety of dishes from steaks to pasta and Serbian cuisine as well. We were not terribly hungry but had a few starters to begin, and The tomato bruschetta and the foie gras terrine. Ella and I shared an Imberica Pork Pasta that was quite good. Then shared the Tri-Color Dumplings, an ice cream coated with a nutty crust. All of the food we tried was delicious and I plan to come back when more hungry for sure.

They have a very good domestic sliva, and we shared a bottle of wine. Being outside and the view made the evening very special

They claim to have some of the best grilled steaks in the city and while I bet mine are better, this would be one of the places I would try.

And yes if you have been following Ella is growing like a weed. She is as tall as her mother and I now have to start looking for the shot gun to keep the boys at bay.

The hotel looks great too and is in a wonderful location.
